No. 3: The Dancers

I have zero shame in admitting that sometimes during rehearsal it’s hard for me to focus, because I’m surrounded by Lithuania’s best and most handsome dancers ALL THE TIME. Sadly, the one video of them dancing together on a Lithuanian Show “Sok su Manimi” is unavailable for US IP addresses :((( They go by the names of Tomas, Tomas, Laurynas, and Rytis. They are UNREAL, and truly, the best of the best. I am so lucky to have gotten them :) Needless to say, practice is a lot of fun, and it helps that they all have a wonderful sense of humor and are very kind to my less than sharp dance moves ;) Our choreographer is Kestas Baranauskas- a Lithuanian reknown choreographer. He organized the dance for my performance last year. I can’t say much about the dance, because I don’t want to spoil it, but get ready, because it’s unbelievable! The dancers together: (I’d get you closer pictures, but I, unfortunately don’t have any! :)))

(but of course, as everyone knows, the dancer is better moving, than caught in a picture forever ;)) JUST YOU WAIT!)

No. 2: The Newspaper

So, today was rather interesting! Found out that I made the national paper! :) That was my morning. Well, my 12 o’clock, because my mother and I couldn’t fall asleep, lols. So we slept in a little bit. Then, we were off on the train to Kaunas for some rehearsaling! My mother and I found our seats in the train and we were just sitting there when the girl across from us pulled out the paper…. and went straight to read the article with my face on it. I might have put on my glasses with no lenses and acted…..VERY casual. I almost asked her if I could borrow her paper for a minute, LOLS. That would have been a hoot. Of course I didn’t. ;) So for all of you non-believers, Happy Saturday!!! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LOVING HARDWORKING FATHER AT HOME! :) I love you!

No.1: The Mission

So, since many of my friends, family, random people who I don’t know but am happy to get asks from, and even my own professors (who have graciously allowed for me to not come to class for a month) have asked how they can keep up with me. I’m not the biggest fan of twitter, and facebook wasn’t quite right for this, so I decided it was time to make a blog for my second Eurovision experience, which I will update daily (I hope) to keep those in the USA who are interested posted and up to date. . :)))

If you’re here, I’m assuming you know me, but if you don’t know me, well, Hello! Here’s a quick overview. My name is Greta Šmidt, I’m a Lithuanian who lives in Florida and goes to FSU. I am singer/songwriter, and….my mother is reading over my shoulder right now ;) I think life is really grand. I could spout out all of my philosophies about life, but I know that you don’t really care about those (if you do, feel free to send me an ask) so, on to the good things. I hope you enjoy this blog, I will do what I can to keep all of you updated! I’ll post what I have so far/what has happened thus far and integrate old information into the new information!

The main point of this blog is, of course, a follow of my experience, to take you on this magic carpet ride, as it were. I also competed in Lithuania’s Eurovision last year, and it’s a shame I didn’t make a bigger deal out of it (and by that, I mean, make a blog out of it!) My mission in Lithuania is to put on a good show, and as it is for all of the other contestants, win :) That’s the plan. But really, let’s just make some progress shall we?
